  • I am getting an “ApplicationXtender Web Access .Net Server Error” when trying to access BDMS.

This error typically occurs when attempting to access BDMS from a Banner form not associated with the application you have access to. Please be sure you are using the appropriate Banner form to access BDMS.

bdms-appxtender-error

  • When I attempt to index batch documents, I get an “ApplicationXtender Web Access .Net Error”, I cannot log back into BDMS because the IE browser stops working, and I receive a message that states Internet Explorer has stopped working and will shut down.

If you are accessing BDMS directly through the web, it is important to close the browser window (shown below) before scanning and/or attempting to log back into BDMS.

  • I am getting the “ApplicationXtender Web Access .NET: In order to view this document the Adobe Acrobat PDF Reader must be installed” error when attempting to view documents in BDMS.

You need to follow the instructions to Change BDMS user settings.

  • When I perform a query in ApplicationXtender to view mail service journal voucher backup documents, I get an “ApplicationXtender Web Access .Net Error”.

You do not have the master fund/org Banner Finance security access to view BDMS documents relating to mail services charges. However, you may perform a Banner budget query in Self-Service or the FGIBDST screen to verify these charges. If you need assistance with performing budget queries, please contact your Fiscal Monitor or the Center for Learning and Professional Development.

  • Our IT Tech just installed the Application Web Xtender .Net Components, however, when I tried to log into BDMS it did not allow me. I used the same user name and password that I use for Banner.

Follow Step #2 of the Installation Process for synchronizing your Banner password with BDMS. Please be sure you are using the appropriate Banner form to access BDMS.

  • The annotation icons are not active.

If your BDMS access is view/print only, you will not have access to annotations. If you have the annotations access, follow the instructions on pages 26 through 37 in the Installing ApplicationXtender Web Access .Net Components 7.0.1010 manual.

  • I am getting an Adobe Acrobat Document icon instead of the full view of the document and nothing happens when I click on it

The ApplicationXtender Web Access .Net components need to be re-installed. Follow the instructions in the Installing ApplicationXtender Web Access .Net Components 7.0.1010 manual.

  • I am getting an Adobe Acrobat Document icon instead of the full view of the document. When I click on the icon, the document is then viewable. How do I get rid of the icon?

You need to follow the Steps for Clearing the Cache. Then follow the instructions to Change BDMS user settings.

  • My computer was updated/replaced and now I cannot access BDMS.

You need to follow the Installation Process to set up the computer.

  • I get “A unique key violation has occurred!” error when I try to index a document.

The error occurs because a document already exists with that index. Please see Appendix V – Handling a Unique Key Violation of the BDMS Scan and Index Manual.
